The Conquest of Gaul has a new look and new attitude (about publishing stuff)!

Over the past several years, my interest and motivation for keeping this site up to date has waned dramatically. But that all ends now! The Conquest of Gaul is back and (will be) better than ever! More reviews! More rewinds! And, everyone’s favorite, more lists! As it stands (mostly in my mind), the “schedule” will hopefully be as follows:

  • Every Monday will have The Listen List: a short list of which albums from the previous week seem to be garnering a lot of attention and might be worth checking out

  • Every Friday will have New Music: a short-ish review of one recently released stand-out album

  • The first of the Month will have a 5/10/20-Year Rewind: an in-depth look back at one work that has shown to be incredibly impactful (especially on me) or has otherwise become a time-tested great

  • June/July-ish will see a Best So Far list, and of course…

  • December-ish will have the Best Albums of the Year

I’m really excited to get started with the new format, and get back to doing what I love the most: talking about awesome new music. Enjoy, and happy listening!
